his car has a petrol EFI engine, the dashboard cluster he has is of a diesel - the light you see is for a diesel engine, its specifically for a fuel water sedimenter.
His car does not have it - and someone most probably installed the EFI engine afterwards but ran out of money to buy the gauge cluster hence you see no check engine light either.
Hence the stupidity of warning lamps.
True that some warning lamps are tied to the alternator light circuit for self test on startup. The ABS VSC, lights will illuminate on your car with blown bulbs because it uses the brake pedal switch as a signal control.
