Unhappy Problem with ECO function of 2006 Vitz U-Package -- Urgent HELP..!! :(

    Hi Guys

Im having a problem with the ECO function of my 2006 U-package vitz... and i really need a PW guru to help and guide me about it...

The problem is that the ECO light (green color) keeps on blinking in the front odometer panel.....
I removed the negative terminal of the battery to reset the ECU and then the ECO light was off once engine was started and it did the ECO function (i.e at traffic signal it turn-off engine once break paddle was pressed and started again once it was removed)
But the problem is that it did that only once and after that the ECO light in the dashboard has started blinking continuously again.... and it has stopped to do the ECO start stop function...

I dont know what to do... and simply have no clue why its happening...!!

Need some expert to help me in this... PW gurus needed here urgently please...

    Thankx for ur response mate.
Bro it does not have an RPM meter as its 1000cc variant... RPM comes with 1300cc models...!!

i got engine tuning, throttle body service and CVT changed and Alhamdolilah car is doing very well... recently gave me 18km/l but the only problem im facing is with ECO function...

Any clue or expert idea about the above mentioned problem? or u can suggest me some expert in RWP/ISB..?

Well its not a hybrid actually the engine turns off when we press the brake pedal and starts in 1-2 second once we release it... usually helpful in traffic and at signals and save fuel but it has separate Lithium batteries that keep all the electrical functions of the car running till u release the pedal...

Bro the guyz at toyota rawal motors didnt have any clue about it.... They said that ECO comes in latest Altis but it only indicate that whether you are driving in ECOnomy range or not + what milage u'll get with that driving... they didnt know about this engine turning off and then staring again + by itself & the lithium battery stuff...

Plz if u can guide me to someone who is a real expert in toyota or vitz stuff, i'll be grateful...

    HV..?

The support battery only maintain the electrical systems when engine is turned off so support battery may not be involved...

Vehicles with START & STOP Function -[ECO]

    Stopping the engine

First put the shift lever in the neutral position when stationary, and release the clutch pedal. The engine will then stop. Next with the engine stopped, if the clutch pedal is pressed, the engine will start again.

The “ECO” indicator will light up in the instrument cluster when the engine has stopped.

A buzzer will sound as a warning when the following operations are done:

    1. The shift is put into a gear position without the clutch pedal being pressed when the engine is stopped.

    2. The driver’s door is opened when the engine has stopped temporarily.

    Restarting the engine

Check that the shift lever is in “N” and depress the clutch pedal, the engine will re-start and the “ECO OFF” indicator will come on but when the vehicle starts moving, it will go off.

If you should want to disable the system, press “ECO OFF” switch.

To disable the system, press the "ECO OFF" switch. At this time, the indicator of the switch will come on.

    @drtariqazeem,

You should check with some professional scanner who deals with Toyota and other vehicles with ECUs.

Could you tell me how you changed your CVT and was it filled from above in the engine bay?

Bro i got it changed from toyota motors, my younger brother took the ride to them that day so cant tell u the details... But the method was that of opening the sump and then cleaning it, reseal an allowing it to dry and then filling the toyota CVT - TC oil...

There is a thread here in which some on has done a commendable job showing detail pics of all the process... Have a look at it and ur concept will soon b crystal clear... Best of Luck...
