i don't want to go for engine swap, a lot of headache plus at time of selling the buyer really devalues your car if engine is changed

I had partially the same dilemma. I myself wasn't convinced in changing ANYTHING of the car which is why i delayed the lame deck for three years. However, I was offered swaps, never thought of converting.

Cultus carby is 3 cylinder whereas the PS EFI version is 4 cylinder. If you can get 3 cylinder EFI intake ,ECU and All sensors with wiring then its possible, but hectic.

it is possible but u'l end up in big punga, buy a simple 4efe,4afe and if you are in greed of power get a 4efte.

EFI Version also came in 2E but that will be hard to find that intake. Best option is to swap the engine and if you are sellling you car to dealers they will always try to point out these thing but any sane buyer knows 4A or 5A are way better engines than 2E not only in economy they are rock solid engines.

I am using 7AFE which is 1.8 in my 98 rola it gives me 14 KMPL in Petrol and 200 Easily on CNG Local I mean why would i stick with slow noisy 2E or they call it 12 VAAL :p

I did swap my 88's Engine to 5AFE from the slow 2E i hated that engine in the end even with perfect condition it was just dead with a/c usage and i Sold that car at a very good price.

Swap only if you want to keep the car. Otherwise no point getting into swap hassle.

I like Swap bcoz I learned from few people on forum how to properly Do it and did 2 successful swaps.
