Dear members I feel lucky that we have such a big portal/platform to discuss the problems we face regarding our cars.
These days I am driving a Mitsubishi Lancer 1997 Model. This car came to my family brand new under the disability scheme, and since it is with us.
Originally it had a 1.3 liter carburetor engine which after cracking some 437,000 kilometers was replaced by a Mitsubishi 4G15 1.5 liter EFi engine in 2012. For two years it ran fine with a few issues, which were addressed on as and when basis.
Now the problem I am facing is strange, since June of 2014 the fuel pump gives up every month. The pattern is same every time. The fuel pressure start decreasing, affecting the pick up and in about 15 to 20 days time it completely goes.
I have charged three fuel pumps in four months and now the third one is also going.
Now I know there is some issue in the setup/wiring of my car which causes the fuel pump to fail slowly.
My mechanic does not seem to understand the problem and cannot diagnose it I would like to the experts to kindly help me out with it...
