How to Know if vitz is 1000 cc or 1300 cc.

Hi Guys,

Im in a little fix, i have a vitz but no related information and i wish to know if the Vitz i have is a 1000 cc or 1300 cc. I got it from a relative and they gifted it to me but they had to give me the documents but then they left for a trip to america and will not return for another 3 months. Please guide if engine number or any other info in the car can help me get this information.

the 1.0 litre engine is a 3 cylinder and is called 1KR-FE where as the the 1.3 litre engine is 4 cylinder and is called 2NZ-FE (same as that of corolla Gli/Xli). You can locate these names next to the chasis number. Plus, these cars come with 4 valves per cylinder so thats another way to find out. I haven't used a vitz so i'm no authority. Just applying common sense =P

Hmm.. i am not that technical so i wont be authority to even answer the valve number or anything. The model is 2006 .. also the bonnet when picked has a little sticker that has everything in japanese and it says 2sz fe .. that is all i know .. my last car 2001 vitz said 1sz fe ?? is this authority on engine size or not .. also can anyone tell me where the chassis number will be no engine plate can be found ..

see the engine plate which shows the engine number ,chasis number etc... check the displacement and details from there ,post engine code after checking it from there
the 1.0 liter is a 3cylinder,
or easiest way,take a picture and post it

but thats what the the bonnet sticker says .. it does not have any chassis number or anything .. should i take it for a 1300 cc car then ?? .. can anyone post their vitz 1300 cc engine pics .. ill also do that in some time

Simple! Do a 0-100km/h acceleration test. Since you've already owned a 1.0L Vitz, this one ought to be quicker if it's a 1.3L.

Or the pretty rare 1.3L (1300cc) 1NZ-FE which comes in the RS varient and 4WD varients.

The 2SZ-FE is a 1.3L (1300cc) and the 1SZ-FE is a 1.0L (1000cc).
