Default Cultus 2001 Carby - having three different problems, please help.

I owned a carby cultus 2001. Couple of months back, I did engine overhaul after 100K mileage and now having three different problems with my car.

1 - When I start it on CNG in the morning after overnight stop, car vibration is too much especially in the steering. Looks like that some force is shaking whole car. I can understand that its 12 years old car and there will be surely some vibration but what I am facing is extreme. I don't think its a normal kind of vibration. I performed engine tuning from Suzuki some days ago and computerized CNG adjustment from two different shops but problem is still same. One mechanic said its a head valve issue, you need to replace them and it will be OK but head valves are already changed when I did engine overhaul. Is it possible that head valves (made in Japan) stopped working properly only after couple of months they installed?

2- Couple of days back, I was on motorway and decided to check my car max speed on petrol and CNG and at the end I was very disappointed. On petrol without AC, it reached up to 135kph and with CNG needle stopped at 110kph without AC. With AC on both fuels, it didn't cross ~105kph. As I mentioned above, already done tuning and CNG adjustment but no impact on this issue as well. Should I go for carburetor service or something else...?

3- I reckon this as more serious issue, if i start car on petrol while engine is cold, it starts quickly as it should be but the problem arises when I try to start it on petrol while the engine is hot. Engine cranks and try to start itself but unable to start initially. By pressing accelerator again and again, i have a feeling that power from accelerator is not passing to engine to help him in starting.
If i drive say 20km and stop the car and then try to start it again, it will take much more time as compared to if i drive 5km and stop the car and then try to start it. So, problem is severe when Engine is at its maximum temperature. My mechanic is unable to figure out the actual problem, just checking here and there and still have no clue what's going wrong. There is no problem with battery.

I really appreciate for your help to sort out these problems.
    Thanks.

If there is an issue with engine mountings then it should vibrate every time when I start car. In my case, it vibrates more than usual when engine is cold and less vibration when engine is hot and I start car.

Can you please post link of that thread here? I tried to search but no success.

    Please tell me,

    • Wat is the situation If u start car in morning on petrol ?
    • After cold start wen car reaches normal temprature does vibration reduces? & idle rpm inreases relatively high ?
    • Wat happens if the cars engine is very hot & u start it on CNG?
    • Does ur car have spark advancer?

    - It starts efficiently without any problem in the morning on petrol.
    - Yes, vibration reduces after temperature increased. Idle RPM increases a bit.
    - It starts easily with less vibration.
    - I don't know the term 'Spark Advancer', please explain........?

    @Zahida1

According to my poor knowledge & experience ur car is having following issues,

    • Auto Choke Function not working propoerly.

Cultus Carby has Auto choke function which increases Idle RPM during cold starts according to embient temprature. If this functions is working properly then the cars idle rpm will increase inversly to the temp mean as Lower the embient temprature more the engine's RPM. So ask ur mechanic to get This function cheked & fix if required.

    • The 2nd issue of poor starting on petrol wen engine is hot

It seems due to excessively adavnce Ignition timing. While runing on CNG engine requires relatively advance ignition timing to properly burn the CNG (Can be adjusted from Distributor manualy) So it means u need diffrent Ignition timing for both Petrol & CNG.Since the Manual adjustment for every time u change the Fuel type is not practical so there is device available to adjust Spark/Ignition timing automaticaly according to fuel type being used( Factory Fitted CNG cars with Carb engines like coure, alto, Cultus, etc Comes with this adavncer but usually not installed with after market CNG kits but can be installed easily).

Ask ur mechnaic to check Ignition timing which shud be 4~6 for petrol & 14~16 for CNG . Couples of years back wen CNG was available with out any load shedding people having cars with after market kits didnt bother to have Spark timing adnavcer as most of them were rarely using petrol. but adays due to 3 days load shedding of CNG mostly people have to use there cars regularly on both petrol & CNG so the Installtion of Adnvacer is must to have optimum performance on both Fuels. The price of new Advancer wud be 2500~3000 Rs while the used 1 may be available between 1200~2000 depednding upon condition.

A properly tuned Cultus with AC on & runing on CNG can easily hit 110Kmph on High way.
