    Default Nissan GA15DE Problem

Hello everyone, I swapped a GA15DE in my 1987 Nissan B12 Chassis. It has been over a year now, the engine was running fine without problems until now.

Following are the problems that i am facing:

1: I feel that the engine has lost it's power, what could be the main reason behind that? Could it be a clutch plate issue or an electrical problem ?

2: The gear ratios are short. Is this normal ? I Usually change to the 5th gear somewhere around 80-90 K mph

3: One of the axel has been welded because i could not find an exact fit. What can be done to get rid of the weld? any possible solution?

I would like to ask all experts to give their opinions and help me out. Thanks.

    Your respective answers:
    1. First of all if you are running your vehicle on CNG then do check for spark plugs and ignition coil etc. If they are ok then go for any mechanical check (e.g, tappet adjustment, clutch plate, pressure plate etc.).
    2. If you change your 5th gear at 80-90, then its a good practice...u get fuel economy in early shifts.
    3. Purchase a kabli axle and fit it in because welded one adds risk to ur ride.

I hope this helps u find ur problems and their solutions. If not then wait for more opinions.

Thanks sir, the tappets are not adjustable and the clutch and pressure plate seems to be working fine. I cant find the exact fit of the Kabli axel because the engine has been replaced.

The car has cng installed and the problem persists on both fuels. The wiring was done from Bilal Ganj Lahore last year and has been working flawlessly until now. I bought the engine with it's original gearbox and the clutch plate never slips. I think some sensor is messed up, but which one?

I will definitely get the throttle body serviced and let you know. I was going through your thread about your swap in your B13. Wanted to ask you about the axle rods. Were they a perfect fit ? will post pictures soon..

Was the loss in power sudden or you started feeling it over a period of time? What mileage have you clocked on the engine?

The axles should be readily available in Bilal Gunj and even Montgomery road. This engine is not too rare.

Yes kind of sudden. Dont actually know about the mileage. Been a year now and my daily travelling on an average is around 40-50 Km so you can do the math .. I will get the throttle body serviced and all the sensors checked and clean and then report.

Default Nissan B12 upgraded cooling fan installation help

Hi. I have been looking for someone who understands Nissan twin cam engines. since its rare and mechanics are not reliable. so thought of signing up here and ask you for assistance.
I upgraded my 87 sunny from E13 to GA15DE last year. Upgraded my radiator and fans with some newer version aswell. Now it has got 4 wires coming out of each fan with a 4 pin connector. One fan is connected with the a/c. the other one operates directly. the radiator fan assembly has no thermostat or any place to install it. Now winters are about to come. Engines stays cold almost all the time, resulting rpm to stay high since engine is unable to reach the reasonable temperature. Im sure youre getting my point. Rpm has no other idling issues on A/C as i have managed to get the IACV wired. Fuel consumption is good. sensors are working fine. Just want a proper solution for cooling system. I want one fan to be controlled by ECU. The other one only switches on when A/C is turned on. the other operates and needs to be wired correctly. please help me with this. How can i connect or control that fan to work automatically so it could only turn on whenever required and works with both high or low speeds. I got complete wiring with the engine which includes fuse boxes and relays. but didnt install that. ECU wiring has no alteration and installed the way it is. car has its stock fuse box and relays working. How can i make the fan work with the ECU? Or is there any other alternate way to get the fan operated automatically. I would really appreciate if you could help me out with this. I have already wasted alot on local mechanics and they dont know **** about how ECU and sensors work.
    Thank you

    - my suggestion is get a thermostat valve into the car cooling system, Thermostat valve is an item installed inside the engine. The red circle is approx position for thermostat valve. 4 wires are standard for cooling fans, to work on high & low speed with & without aircon. Use suitable coolant prepared in bottled water with 60% water -40% coolant ratio when you flush engine after placing thermostat valve into the system

clean the water temperature sensor as well. it is an important input. Also engine should have thermostat in it.
