Default PakWheels 3.0 [updated]

--- Update ----
PakWheels 3.0 Launch day:
Wednesday, 11th November, 2009.

Kindly note that PakWheels.com will be down early morning Wednesday for the update and will be back up before noon.
-----------------

PakWheels is about to launch its latest version later this week with an improved experience and lots of exciting features!

Before giving a run-down of all that’s included in the new release, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful community of PakWheelers for their support, prayers and advice over these years. You guys rock!

Changes/Updates/New Features in this release:

1. The biggest thing you’ll notice in this version is the revamped PakWheels forums. The forums have now been built on a popular platform called vBulletin which offers lots of cool features like private messaging, search utilities, post tagging, extensive profile options etc. For more information on vBulletin, check out this link: http://www.vbulletin.com/features.php

2. With the forums, the much-wanted members directory is coming back as well! Members will also be able to create contact lists for better networking.

3. We’ve also changed the home page layout around to include more interesting sections and content.

4. On popular demand, we have bought back the Automobile Industry News widget on the home page to keep everyone updated about what all is making waves in the auto world- both locally and internationally.

5. Used Car Search: We have revolutionized the search module by introducing a panel called “Refine By”. While searching you can now filter the results based on a number of car properties (like transmission, engine type, posted etc. This way you can drill down to the exact car you want quickly and efficiently.

Moreover, you will now be able to search expired ads.

6. Price List: Navigating the price list was a pain previously, so now we’ve added some nice quick links to help users out.

7. Auto Pages: We’ve given more searching options to users and have included smart quick links that will give you options to jump to specific shop categories based on the city you’re from.

8. The detail pages for Used Cars have been updated to include a better slideshow feature and some much-needed design tweaks.

We really hope you like the new PakWheels experience and look forward to hearing your feedback on the new features once PW 3.0 is launched. And please stay tuned – as there will be more interesting updates coming your way in the upcoming weeks.

Cheers,
Team PakWheels

Yes, I know but I am a member of many forums on internet the variety of these forums start from Pakwheels to defence discussion forums to software discussion forums. And Pakwheels is the only forum who does not allow members to edit/delete their own posts (because I think 50 sec for edit/delete is nothing). Cheating is part of internet forums and discussion, I have seen far more worse fights on defence/politics related forums then on Pakwheels and those forums admins handle those fights with more better way by having warnings if any member exceeds a certain amount of limit automatic ban is enforced on them, Plus I think posting a topic should also have some kind of restrictions like a new members should not be allowed to post before certain amount of days or posts has been made by them. It is quite hilarious for me atleast that I make a mistake and then I ask the mods to rectify it what are we children from kindergarten who make mistakes and then their parents/teachers rectify it.

Okay, if admins think that by allowing by default edit/delete function could create problems then then atleast allow it on the request of that member who made a mistake in a post after checking that post whether their is anything offensive or not which could be edit/delete.

Looks like I am starting an wanted fight so sorry Admins, I don't know when I posted my opinion about the edit/delete policy that I get this kind of response otherwise I would never post anything like that.

As for Mominhaq, bro I know what features are been provided by vbulletin, but looks like you are missing the point, so here are few names of those forums which I am a part of Pakdef.info, Pakistanidefenceforum.com, F1db.com and these all use vbulletin so I know about that before Pakwheels even decided to switch to vbulletin. And they all provide edit/delete function for longer intervals.

If you guys have any doubts look at this topic of Pakdef I have edited it just now although no change have been done just open use edit button on the forum my ID is MSaadU on that forum check the posting time and edit time the difference is about one and a half month here is the link

genius83

I fully got your point brother and did not challenge your knowledge of the VB format.

I was just letting you know.

You are more than welcome to give suggestions and believe me your(the member's) suggestions are highly valued and looked upon very seriously.

That is the main reason(all the suggestions and feedback from the members) that it was necessary to go towards VB.

There is always room for improvement.

@genius83

Nice suggestions. Actually vBulletin is fully customizable and option can easily be added or removed by admin. May be the forums u r using do not provide the specific feature which in ur view should be there. PW will definitely go inline and according to the feedback by members

@sial..... I have been testing this forum for a week now. It loads better than the current one

Thank you for your valuable suggestion guys

@mominhaq

Sorry brother, my previous post was a bit harsh towards you so please accept my apology, I never intended the way it turns out in my post. And if you are part of the Pakwheels development team then please try to forward my suggestions to your team and a real big round of applaud for you and the whole PWdevelopment team.

@Panic

Please elaborate your post what you mean by my usage of different forum then your's because I am using the same PW version 2.0 and you are testing Pakwheels 3.0 or are you saying something about my other forums membership.

Just tried the 3.0.

Big disappointment I'm sorry to say.

Needs a lot of allignment, the font is confusing, and the worst part - it looks like every other forum on the www nowadays.

@bango

i will agree to you a bit...as forums used on current websites are not good...i hope this will different

cuz current 1 is very simple but with very few options

but example is like the same forum used for defense.com...they are to much complicated to use
