My wholehearted welcome to the purist party pooper (Please ignore that).
Now im not a serious 4x4 wala guy, im really not, the most ill do is go visit rani-kot, hingol, keenjhar, mithi etc. mostly i just use it for daily use and it works magic on the road which is similar to the magic Prophet moses's staff did in the red sea. yup, you got it, its an urban nuisance vehicle, the rickshaws, the motor bikes, the prado's the vigos, the water tanker walas, no one effs with me on the road.
That my friend is a great advantage, much greater then retaining all the mutt-ness of the mutt.
Secondly although i could have procured a older version prado or a surf with the money i spent on it, it wouldnt have brought the novelty and would have made me look like waderay ka beta (2nd class wadera mind you because of the older version), furthermore, most people on the road thing im crazy, only well informed folk like you think (albeit incorrectly) that ive thrown money away.
It isnt however just an urban pleasure vehicle (my emphasis), its 4x4 capabilities have been compromised because of the added shenanigans, they havent been diminished absolutely. I do have seat belts, and believe the wider axels help in stability and even though they may not compensate for the complete change in Center of Gravity , they do help. The M825 had the tire and can at the rear and as far as im concerned, they are the same unibody.
Any way to each his own and, i dont doubt for a second that what you've said is right, but i should decide what my vehicle does and its an urban nuissance daily driver, in contradiction to keeping it pure, and off roading in phase 8 every sunday and calling the recovery guy everytime i go out.
Peace Brother
