Default New Cultus vs Old city. Which to buy

Hello guys,

Need your input with this. I have a budget of around 800K. Either i buy a '09 cultus or an '04-'05 city. I'm concerned that city being a used car might require regular troubleshooting which cultus might not.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I vote for City, if you are 100% sure that it is a genuine car, like some frined of relative is selling. Two years ago I saw an auto city going for 670.000 rs in Khi, but now the prices have gone so high. If you can find the 2003 model (previous shape) it would be great

The city would be a better choice... the civics in the price range will be a lot older...

The city has great mileage compared to other cars, and there aren't that many faults in the city as in a cultus, sure its a 5 year old car and time will have taken its toll but its still worth it compared to a car that is priced 3 lacks more than it should have been. No one can guarantee the fault free nature of the cultus, the only valid point of a cultus is the factory cng and warranty the rest is a lame excuse for a reason..

@naxun
You know what is itching me?
Its the fact that you went from being a normal guy to a retarded suzuki fanatic. Stop being so over emotional, everyone has his opinion and you can't change anybodys....

And i suggest that you go through a thread by storm "alternatives to local mafia cars" that will satisfy the itch.

The OP asked for what he should buy and you started arguing on suzuki this and suzuki that. Make another topic for that alright. This is not the place to show the superiority of suzuki in light of consumer data

@naxun, i would agree with RB here, dont know why but u r unnecessarily trying to advocate paksuzuki in each & every thread i see

I do own a Suzuki product and i know the worth of them very well. when u talk about alternatives, there have been many.... always.. but they needed some encouragement from buyers.. which they never did & eventually they had to packup & then people blame that they ran away! remember Kia Pride in the 90s??? it was the best alternative to the only 1000cc Khyber back then, it was a great car and did give a tough time to Khyber in whatever number of days it was available, but how many of us actually had the courage to support Kia Pride & break the monopoly? Mehran was 90,000 Rs. car back in 1990 and since then things it offers have been kept reducing while the quality is on the decline, and now we pay nearly 5 lac for a 20 year old car which was just 90,000 brand new... can u justify it?

if u say what are the alternatives then what was Kia Classic? in a price competitive to an Alto u use to get a lot lot more than Alto in terms os specs, space, comfort everything but see what happened to Kia Classic? whoz fault is this??? the middle class? i also belong to that middle class but i can't believe people belonging to this class easily afford to pay 7 lac for an Alto?? huh... Kia Spectra, need i say something about that great car, was so much value for money but look at its fate today. Chevrolet cars are here, how many do u see on roads? reason??? Chery QQ is a best buy over Alto & Cuore, offers a great value for money, how many do u see rolling out of showrooms? why??? Geely CK was a nice car but the company packed up! same reason, people kept prefering cars like alto & cuore without any basic feature over the fully loaded cheap sedans in the same price... why??? Proton Gen2 is still cheaper than any Liana City or Corolla Xli and perhaps is better in many aspects (if not every)... how many people u see prefering Proton?? why??? its not that there aren't options available, its only because we are brand concious & will continue to be like it.

@Poster

U r comparing Apple with oranges. No comparison. But if u hav a mind set that new car is trouble free n used isnt then its ur choice. What il say is sepnd some time finding a gud City. Ul not found that pleasure by driving new cultus.

Dear Anas Mansoor,

I have City 2003 in old shape and enjoying its drive from Nov 2008 almost a year.

Believe me that its trouble free as compared to any suzuki product. Bcs during the whole year I just change its Oil, Filter etc. only once i changed its discs which are bcs I purchased used and give sometime to it after almost 8 years.

I think new vehicle can also required this kind of changes in that particular period. My cousin puchase cultus 2007 almost 50000 milage, he is not happy with his decision.

Its doors pins are also not in perfect condition and not as comfartable as city.

Just take drive of city and cultus and then take decesion.

Thanks

Shahid Amin
