specifically am checking out honda citys, so any city owners, any experiences in that regard?

^^
Lol

@tarik is right.
Besides what he mentioned, also start the car (yourself) and notice how long it takes to start, and how smoothly it does. That typically tells you the condition of the engine.

Then tap the accelerator and notice the sound...if you know at least the basics of cars, you can tell the condition of the engine..

Good luck bro (Y)

well its not a rocket science you have to make sure about certain things when buying a car
certain priorities have to be set when you are inspecting

1 Never ever fall for CD player SUBWOOFER ALLOYS or KIT

2 Never Buy a kitted car

3 Open the Boot of car and make sure its spotless and every thing is where it is suppose to be no wires visible no modifications no amps or stuff like that

4 Check for the edges that they are smooth and there is no rusting on the door edges

5 allign your eye to the front or back light and slighly move ur head back while looking at the paint and if there is a slight curve in the reflection than the car has been done

6 Check for the door joints inside and make sure the the windows present the same number or in series so you know there has been no changes

7 Open the Hood and check the engine is clearly washed up and its not dirty dont fall for a dirty engine

8 Open up the oil tap and check if there is any creamy feeling there if its creamy just keep shut and walk away

9 Make sure the mileage is genuin and make sure you dont see any thing which shows that speedometer has been opened up

10 lift up the carpets and check that if there is any rust under the carpets if so than its a bad bad car

11 I WILL REPEAt AGAIN DONT FALL FOR A DIRTY CAR WITH A GOOD STEREO THATS A WASTE OF MONEY

12 Make sure the spare tyre has all the accessories with it in a genuine condition if not than a bad bad owner

13 Drive the car and make sure there are no songs switched on at that time hear for any knocking noises in engine

14 Ignore the small body noises as most desi cars have that

15 go to 60kph and press the brakes at once and check if ABs is working if not then make sure if it stops

16 if u like the car pay the money and go home happy

Summary
DONT FALL FOR KITTED
DONT FALL FOR HIDS
DONT FALL FOR ALLOYS
DONT FALL FOR MODIFICATIONS
GO for a genuin car if you cant get it find it as there are good keepers too
Cheers

the lines on the body. Peice to peice paint match. cracks in the paint.

fresh paint, (specialy in the engine bay)

open the bonnet, try to look under the front bumber (check the patti for damage wat ever dats called) wud tell u if its hit from the front or not.

check rust on the car.

if possible get it checked from Honda also. if not honda then the best denter nd the mechanic you noe.
