No, the article is correct and you are wrong. Charles Pic may have delayed Alonso for a lap or so but it still cannot delay him enough that Alonso lost the race because of that. The whole race was shaped up in the second stint when Maldonado do a quick outlap and successive fast and consistent pace lap through out that time. Plus in the last stint Maldonado psyched out Alonso and that is another extraordinary achievement of Maldonado in that race.
