only in Pakistan is this price possible - thanks to our lovely customs charges which for some reason are based on engine displacement.
This BMW is 1.6l turbo which means it will have power more than 2.4l engine of camry and accord but will use fuel same as a 1.6l cars like altis a great combination of economy.
As per the link posted by @v9sDEF:
"Towards the end of 2012, the Bavarian automaker will launch a new entry-level version of the 3-Series sedan, the 316i boasting a 1.6-liter twin-scroll turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine with 134hp (136PS) under its hood."
Which makes it less powerful than the outgoing civic, new civic (same engine), old 1.8 Altis and only about 10 hp more than the 1.6 altis.
Imagine, if BMW's were assembled in Pakistan. 55lac car would've been around 30-35 Lac ...... OO Myyy !
The word is" introduces" not launch.
Rocket launches from earth, they are not introduced from earth.. . They should have two door options too, people like me find 4 door cars annoying at times. door length matters
come on man, BMW 316 is sold in UK as well, loads of people have it, aisee hi chorrrr na dia karo bhai.....peace
Ohh so you are the grammar moderator.... Keep up the good work !
Thank you sir.
I think the price is exclusive of GST & other taxes so don't be so excited about the pricing ! but still a better buy than camry, accord is not that bad btw 1.6Ltr is good enough for Pakistan, we don't posses autobahn's nor we have good roads or easy traffic to test 1.8 ltr or 2.0 ltr above engines, therefore its a pretty good buy considering the 1.6ltr engine with turbo charge good economy plus the price cut that comes with it.
Anyhow, good things to come in coming months as PPP will be going out dewan motors will be coming back & you guys will see new models from Huyndai too like i10 or i20.
I said "I'm pretty sure there is nowhere in the world where an F30 is sold with a 1.6L engine" and then @v9sDEF enlightened me about BMW's intention to introduce 316i in some markets towards the end of 2012.
As per the BMW UK website your statement that "BMW 316 is sold in UK as well, loads of people have it," is simply not true; and so my advice to you is this: "aisee hi chorrrr na dia karo bhai.....peace".
I hope they start making the elantra in Pakistan.
That is indeed good news. Finally, it's time to do away with the reconditioned rubbish being dumped in your market conveniently masquerading as "high quality used JDM imports".
this same engine N13B13 is using in 116i n 118i bmw1 series.....bmw has started in F30 3 series for mostly Asian countries
F30 316i 1.6 twin power turbo 135hp is lil underpowered....i wud wait for 318i same engine with more power upto 170hp....mercedes C180 1.6 CGI 155hp is showing gud sale in most Asian countries
nice...
Dewan is Still alive, if yes then what about Hyundai And KIa operations in Pakistan they have very good plant in Sajawal Sind.
I have seen it in 2004
Turbo means additional fuel and air. it will consume fuel more like 2.4l instead of 1.6l, unless people start to tune it lean which is bad for engine
It will not be as economical as an NA 1.6, but definitely better than a NA 2.4 . With turbo's of today you can achieve higher efficiency. Personally I've never enjoyed the feel of high torque, low hp engines, but there's no denying that these new turbo's are extremely efficient.
i drove 2az-fe 160hp 2.4l halfway across USA. pretty good mileage for a 2.4l..(yes, it was a FE type engine not a GE).
this BMW is 136hp., doesnt come close to scion tc.
as for 4age20v rated at 165hp for a 1.6L n/a, ---many times, i felt its more powerful than 2.4l FE
This is best option.... Much better than otherts.Toyota comes with 121 Hp n its quite good.... Now 136 Ho turbo german will be more responsive than civicBcz. it combines technology...weight....overall engineering...So this must b a hit .....
