I agree 100% with aakbar! This is just a ploy to give construction contracts to the loved ones of the big shots in the govt. Imagine how much cement, iron girders and whatnot will be used in this project. Sad really!
The solution to this is simple. Just close the I-8 signal. People can use the interchanges at Faizabad and Zero Point to access I-8 from the highway. Its so simple. The car will have to be driven a few kilometers more, that's all. I really hate it when the Masterplan of Islamabad is altered in such ways. The city is being ruined slowly and steadily.
More roads, interchanges and under passes etc are not the solution, A good and cost effective mass transit system is the only solution. Not Metro bus please but regular, punctual, comfortable and economical normal buses running on normal roads complemented by clean taxis. That's all really.
