Sato under fire again, this time from Albers.

Takuma Sato has come in for more criticism over his driving conduct after blocking Christijan Albers coming out of Campsa, something the Dutchman claims almost caused a 'massive shunt'.

It is the second race in succession that Sato has been blasted for driving too slowly around the circuit after Christian Klien blamed not using his mirrors effectively.

It is not the first time either that Albers has come into conflict with Super Aguri after Yuji Ide pitched him into a roll at Imola, an accident that subsequently forced the FIA to recommend his removal from the sport.

Indeed, Albers, who went on to qualify in 19th place once Jacques Villeneuve's engine penalty is taken into account, was at a loss to explain why Sato was travelling so slowly at a very fast area of the circuit, showing his emotions by furiously gesticulating as he darted out of the way.

"On my first qualifying run, I nearly had a massive shunt because I came around a blind, uphill corner almost flat out in fifth gear, and all of a sudden I had Sato moving really slowly in front of me.

"I can't understand what he was doing, because he was on his 'in' lap and should have been more aware of what was going on. My emotions got the better of me at that moment, and maybe I reacted in a way that wasn't so nice, but that still doesn't excuse his actions. Everyone knows this is not a place where you lift (off the throttle)."

    @ zia1288 ..
i'll tell you what happened in qualifying .. in simple words .. sato was on his "in-lap" and albers .. was on his flying lap .. and i think on the first straight .. sato was infront of albers .. driving slowly and wouldnt move .. so albers was all fired up !! he came beside sato .. showed him the "middle-finger" on tv !!! and then did somemore signs with his hand which i do not know .. but by that you can see how angry albers was ... and i dont know why the super aguri team is even racing.. even i could do better than that if i only had to come last in every race.. unless someone crashes ..
    PEACE !!

FIA opens 2008 tyre bid process

The FIA has opened the tender process to become Formula 1’s sole tyre supplier from 2008 to 2010.

As part of the F1 governing body’s bid to cut costs and speeds, the sport will officially revert to a single tyre supplier from 2008 and manufactures looking to win the contract for three years have until June 23 to apply.

However Michelin’s withdrawal from F1 at the end of this season means that Bridgestone will hold a monopoly in 2007, a year before the start of the official FIA contract.

The Japanese manufacturer remains favourite to secure the exclusive deal from 2008.

    LAST YEARS RESULTS

    FORMULA1 FROM MAR 12 - OCTOBER 22 2006 -646440

monoca gp qualifying today 28 may 2006

The Monaco Grand Prix is the one race of the year that every driver dreams of winning. Like the Indy 500 or Le Mans, it stands alone, almost distinct from the sport from which it was born. A combination of precision driving, technical excellence and sheer bravery is required to win in Monte Carlo, facets which highlight the differences between the great and the good in Formula One.

Michael Schumacher has been moved to the back of the grid for the Monaco Grand Prix after stewards concluded that he deliberately blocked the track in the closing stages of qualifying, preventing rivals from beating his time.

The decision - which came eight hours later - means Renault’s Fernando Alonso will now start from pole position with the Williams of Mark Webber alongside him. Schumacher is demoted to the back row, where he will join Ferrari team mate Felipe Massa, who crashed out of qualifying without setting a time.

WHAT THE ??!! they can't do that .. those idiot stewards !! i mean why would a (i dont know how many times) world champion like micheal schumacher do a thing like that on purpose .. there must be some reason .. and a good explanation .. what the stewards have done is really wrong .. i totally disagree with their decision !!!!!

I am a big supporter of Micheal Schumacher. When this incident happened i was of the view that it was a simple mistake, that was my love of schumi that was talking.

Actually it wasnt a mistake, infact, he did it deliberately. Now, I dont know why does he do things like that. He is the greatest driver in Formula1. He doesnt need to cheat to win. Its like saying in Urdu " kiye karaye per paani pher dena".
