This time we attempted Makra through a non-traditional route as there was no charm in doing it the same Paye route again. We started our journey from Islamabad on Friday evening (6.30pm) under the umbrella of Rocks & Meadows lead by Muhammad Asim through booked hiace straight to Balakot. At Balakot three jeeps were waiting for us those took us to Paprang i.e a small village equaling the height of Shogran. Stayed there for the night & next day trekked to Makra through Manna Meadow. This route is seldomly taken due to its toughness. Trek was tough but views were splendid. Could not summit due to snow at top & had to return around 150 meter below top. Return was through Paye & night stay again was in Paprang. Next day we had a bonus visit to very cool & calm Sharaan forest. Rest- through pictures?
A small beautiful village near Shoran with the height of 2162 meters approx. It served as a base camp for us for two days.
