Hey guys, I have been observing a lot of you have reservation with pridor stock light bulb. I too was highly unsatisfied by its light since I have to drive mostly at night from university to home and on a highway too, so i searched for a easy to install, environment friendly and relatively economic solution. Since I'm related to engineering I didn't need to ask shopkeepers for their suggestions rather i did my homework at net and asked a particular article from these shopkeepers. I found it in Rawalpindi Commitee chowk. Its Called an SMD LED or that shopkeeper was calling it U2 Led since box said so.
Now what SMD is?
Well we measure visible light in units called ''Lumens'' Pridor stock bulb has round about ''500-600'' Lumens in high beam mode.
The SMD i bought was 2000 Lumens, its 20 Watt and works perfectly in voltage from 9-18V . Current rating is 1.4 Amps high beam and 0.7 Amps low beam.
Why you should go for SMD?
Well an HID blocks vision of oncoming traffic, therefore its not an option at all. Its light is 6000 Lumens which is way too much than we need, HID need a bigger battery while SMD is thrice better than stock lamp and is about half as good as HID, It does not require any alteration of big battery and works perfectly on Pridor. Finally its easily available for 1k only. Here is attached pic of my pridor with SMD installed
