Ramadan Kareem,
Upon getting guidance from PW experts, I recently done an engine swap in my CD3 Accord with Honda F23A4 engine, initial first week the car drives like a charm(still it is). After swap everything was good less RPM drops on Aircon ON, which according to mechanic was because of clogged IAC valve. We cleaned it and works good for 1-2 days and again RPM drops on Aircon ON but also drops on U turns. My mechanics says IAC valve is faulty and needs replacement, i get it checked from two others EFI specialist in ISB Nazir Autos and Wazir Autos and both says it is OK and they adjusted the idle RPM which again works for few days only.
In meantime i took it on 1st test long trip and after 150KM it shows sign of looses power on certain occasions and auto shifting starts giving noticeable jerks and to an extent that it refuses to shift gears or stalls on hills, on way back I got fuel supply system checked, fuel pump was working fine(48psi) but culprit found was fuel pressure regulator as symptom was to do with return fuel line...anyways i replaced it with my earlier engine and car drives normal again.
most recently, i am again feeling that during extended city driving, car starts loosing power and giving slight jerks in gear shifting, it seems the issue is either with fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator...
my questions are...
- upgrading from 1.8 to 2.3L engine that swapped with grip to grip wiring, did anything left that need to be changed also? any electrical part like relay etc OR e.g fuel pump?
- in this model fuel pump is fixed outside the tank nor like my 2009 civic, is there any probability of fixing a fuel pump inside the tank?
- can i purchase a new fuel pressure regulator(FPR) for F23A4 engine? or retrofit any other honda FPR?
- which external fuel pump fits in my car? how to identify it
i want to buy both items brand new for a peaceful driving or guide what to do, so kindly help me
