Hi,
I am going to get a 2004-05 City within a couple of weeks. As I am not much knowledgeable about the subject, just want to know what repairs/parts replacements/oil changes etc should I do right after the purchase and how much budget should I keep separate for these tasks.
10% of car's value should be kept as a budget for repairs, what what to look for:
Other than that
Before Buying
Also, ensure that the cooling system is working perfectly. This includes the radiator, water pump, cooling fan, thermostat, and hose pipes. Use an ethylene-glycol-free coolant (preferably Honda's) with distilled or boiled water in a 50/50 mix.
Thanks for such a detailed reply, I really appreciate it. If we only need to do below tasks, what can be the cost estimate?
Change all the oils (Estimate cost in case of M/T)Change all the filtersChange all 8 spark plugs (Estimate cost)Get throttle body serviced.Get inter cleaningGet headlights buffedGet brakes checked / serviced (Estimate?)
Valuable opinion of other experts also needed
best thing in case of Honda is to take it to 3S and get it fully inspected, they will give a list of necessary work for the car which you have the option of getting done by the 3S or some other place of your own liking/preference.
what is ethyelne glycol free coolant @zainmahdi
??
/sarcasm Tap water I assume.
My failed attempt to refer to OAT/HOAT coolant
no worries...
correct coolant is necessary.. good advice.
Might wanna check the fuse box....while you are at it. Sometimes people mess around with those...
Thanks for reply, I also have planned the same but created this thread just to know which tasks will be more critical to get done immediately and their estimate cost.
I guess Honda people take Rs. 2000 for full inspection, however, you should take the car to them before buying.
