ASALAM O ALIKUM everyone As title suggests my car corolla xli 2007 model have very poor brakes. Many of you may know this particular 9th gen corolla have this skidding problem. My car have Dunlop sp sports 490 tyers which i installed in 2011 with odo at 42k now today its about 88k driven and tires needs changing after 4-5k kms Today i drove it in heavy rain on highway and when i pressed brake Paddle a lil it started skidding badly.I want to know if i install tyres like michelin or yokohama advan db will this skidding problem be solved ?As my car is mostly driven on highwaysOr should i need to gofor 11th gen corolla? How's new corollas grip and brakes as compared to this model ? @autophile bro help me out as you had this model before Thanks
Yes Dunlop tires cause this skidding problem, Switch you yokohama DB decibel or Advan Db you problem will vanish.. when i switched to yokos from dunlop my life changed.
If you will change to even dunlop LM 703..ur prob will be solved...older tyres creat a lot of skidding prob..
i got LM 703 for my 04 City last year and it used to skid alotmy dad's Terios kid also has Dunlop LM702 they skid too Yokohoma and Michelin are better IMO
I have lm 703 in my city 05 n just outstanding brakes...no skidding at all unless u apply brakes with full force at higher speeds..i had dunlop eci digi earlier...they used to skid a lot..
So it means i should change tires to yoko advan dbs How much they will cost plus how much my current tires will be sold as they are still in good nick
8-9k for new ones and do check the date before buyingand your current tyres will be adjusted for 2-4k at max
I never had brake problem in this model using Advan DB. They last for 80k km easily Michelin is also good choice.Price is 7800 - 8000 per tire
So guys need help again
In 9th gen corolla 14 tires are used and i have currently Dunlop sp sports 490 185/70/r14Should i change them to 15 inch as im changing tires in few days Will it be good decision to put 15 tires in it ?
Or other good tires like Yokohama michelin etc available in 14 inch ?
i think both sizes are readily available but sometime certain shops dont have 205 SIZE and sometimes 195 is shot. I have dunlop 205s but now am happy with 195 on db decibel.
you should put 205/60R15 or 195
Thanks for your input Cars is used mostly on bumpy roads is it good to go for wider tires ?
Xli brake perform poor you cant do much about it changing tyres will give a bit better breaking but still it will not improve much
go for yokohama .. and keep stock tyr and rim size for best braking ..... maximum you will get here .... this model has issue
