If you want a new car get a new mehran and be done with it, you can maintain it very easily and its not too bad for a first car. Dont let it become a jugaarbaazi test mule of mechanics.
buying JDMs is a real hardcore headache. They will make you want to pull your hair out when spare parts would be needed - and as 90% of spares would be sourced from junk - repairs would always be a gamble. Dont buy them - specially as a first car. Owning them requires you to be atleast 80% your own mechanic. Dont be fooled by the horde of JDM salesman telling you about its kwaltee, airbags, awesomeness etc etc etc. They will not be of any help when you need repairs. (lots of threads here on PW about them) - In my opinion they are junk for use as an everyday car.
For other choices, a slightly used suzuki swift is nice and pretty peppy too. Its parts are available brand new - everyday at any showroom with the big "S" logo of Suzuki - for your budget it will suit very nicely.
Bonus of owning hatchbacks is that you can use it as a cargo van as required too - and they are pretty easy on fuel mileage.
