the last item on people's mind these days is to check the safety.
swapping in a 2jz is NOT as simple as chucking the 13b rotary out and cutting welding and fitting the 2jz in.
we all witnessed a 1jz rx7 crash in karachi due to bumpsteer. its not the only one...there was another 2jz rx7 which failed to turn on a curve.
everyone knows the problems and i don't want to repeat any of them anymore. If people are still adamant on swapping 2jz in anything that takes it well they should read up online and check

there swap kit for the rx7 is $2500 alone, they claim no cutting or welding is involved and it sets the motor as far back in the rx7 engine bay as it could do. I've checked their kit online, i'm not sure if they have 100% eliminated bumpsteer and caster problems with their kit but i'm guessing the $2500 price tag would buy you more safety then any local mechanic here in Pakistan can.
so all the motorheads thinking of swapping in the 2jz should look into INVESTING some money for their own safety.
i for one think its a complete waste of a good car. The rotary is a beautiful engine and needs a good caring owner to last long. Hell we're running rotary rx7s since the past 5 years in Pakistan without any major problems, i don't know how people can claim they break down the minute you take them out of the garage.
@Xulfiqar: appreciate your making of this topic to highlight the 2jz swap trend but at the end of the day i think most 2jz addicts really want to die. I've heard that people are swapping 2jz in rust buckets like 70s corollas and 70s starlets these days, God save them.
