This morning I crossed the point where Adil Khan (@aridsoul) had his fatal accident. Like so many other times it made me remember him, and reflect what gem of a person he was.
The year was 1994 when I started my o levels tuition where I met adil.
In our tuition bunks we used to play cricket in the lawn if there was a bat or ball otherwise paper balls and 'phatta' were good enough.
Then there were comparisons between adils CD 70 and another guys Yamaha.
Then we started to meet more often outside tuition for cricket, football and on basants.
He was always full of energy and I was the opposite.
Then I bought a foxy which became a nuisance for me as it needed time and I could not afford that with the hectic job routine. And adil was there to help me out with it.
I still remember his collection of toy cars in his cupboard. The first time I saw it, I was like wow!!
Then as I settled into the boring professional life we talked not as often as I would have liked.
Then one day I called his number and uncle answered ..........
May you be rewarded for the good that you have done and may we all be prepared for this eventuality.
