Salam to all. This thread is about using Honda hybrid Nickel metal hybride batteries on a UPS/inverter. By this method you can create differnt combination of voltages by arranging circuit wiring according to your need.but minimum is 15 vol,as this is the least a cell is holding.Honda has arraged them to produce 144 Volts.all are connectd in series by Honda.i connected them in parallel circuit to make 31.4 volts and increased amperes. The method involves handling deadly voltages.so dont try it at home or even at a workshop if you don't have nerves of steel or a solid concentration becasue one wrong touch and you may end up badly hurt or worse. I am not joking.this is DC voltage which once holds you,it wont let you go like our normal AC current. i am well experienced in handdelling the eletrical eqipment.and when cover removed one bank was at 64 VDC and other at 44. and Lethal DC voltage is 50 VDC.so plz dont this untill you know what you are doing.and why i did it? because according to Honda hybrid batteries will die if not used upto 2 months.so mine were gonna die anyway so i re-wired the circuit to bring it down to 24-31 VDC and increase the AMPS.(why i used my almost new honda fit batteries on UPS? because i k20a swapped .so they were not of any use to me)opening up the casevolt meter is a must, and number 8,10 and 12 keys
this little red button shuts off hybrid circuit and you are safe, but once inside case you are at your own.
the deadliest cell circuit,i advice you write you death wish and will before doing it
just remove those wires.those are mainly sensors wires from batteries
Experimental 2 cell circuit checking before putting whole battery bank into circuit
Whole battery bank almost complete
I think no one in the world have tried this because hybrid batteries are still servicing well.so it was time consuming for me.took near 3-4 hours but atlast dont Thanks Allah:).............If you hav't noticed the missing circuit yet,you may not be suitable for this kind of electrical work.(its red circle in down piuc)

Does these batteries give you more backup time then the normal ups batteries.? And these batteries are really expensive. If your target is to have a better backup time you could have gone with 2 simple batteries. Would be really cheaper then these.
i kno0w these are really expensive batteries.i did not use them for more backup.actualy as i changed my car engine to k20r engine,so my car is no more a hybrid.so these were gonna waste anyway.so it was out of fun and curiousity-adventure project.and yes the backup time is more as these are deep cyle ones which discharge upto 80-90%.but i did't do this for backup.another big Tip:as minimum of a cell is 15.3 volts. (50% charged)but our normal batteries which are used for inverters are 12 vollts.they get full upo 14.8 volts.so what happens when i connect this battery bank to my imported UPS ? the UPS thinks that batteries are full as they read 15.3 volts.so UPS will charge them just to 14.8 and than trip. You people got my point? so what is the solution?we need them to be charged upto near 18 volts which normal imported UPS wont do. SO is this end?Solution of this little problem is : Desi UPS in which there is a kit used which can regulate how much charge or trip we need, how much backup will it give.i am talking about any ups who has these type of kits in them.so we will set max trip voltage to near 18 volts and min backup cut voltage near 14.3 volts
so should i say this was successful ? yes it was but not for me.as i have Aurora imported UPS which is non tunable. but i dont regret doing it so options for me are; buy a desi ups or sale these.but i dont have time right now for both.
how much time will these batteries give u backup ?
depends upon load. lets see. Each cell has 8 amps.8x14= 112 amps @ 31 volts. As watt=Volts x amps so we have 112 x 31= 3472 watts. So lets assume i runs 3 fans, 4 savors one TV etc near 500 watt of load. divide 3472/500=6.9 hrs. as there are some loses in electric conversion so you can say 6 hrs
can u connect them to solar panel?
Yes you can but solar charger inverter has same setting.they will be under charged if it trips early.but more expensive solar inverters like Scnieder etc has all the options as to how much charge and when to trip.but those are expensive
Remember all, this is not recommended now.its not benificial now.may be after 5-7 years when hybrid batteries in cars need changing, than instead of throwing them out you can convert them.
Nice try...instead of this i would like to see your FIT engine swap to K20
LOL i created a detailed thread on an international forum about my k20 swap thread.because people here get so jealous and ask about ruining about resale value, madness etc etc , so i didt do it at pakwheelshere are some teaser pics for you to enjoyThe engine JDM k20r with LSD and 6 Speed MTBye bye IMA (i kinda feel said for it)
Mount
We want more.
deltoid yaani shoulder walay yaani maxpower walay bhai saab bohot aala that k20 ..baaqi ups ke samaj nahi aaye
ye to honda fit mein k20 fit ho raha hai i thought crz ke baat kar rahay hain . wah aur be aala.
Ahem plz dont temp me to post more about k20 project.all i can say is car is blast to drive,i need bigger tyres, coz its spins upto 3rd gear!and VTEC is so so pronouned,it really pushes my head at back of seat when klicks in in 1st,2nd and even 3rd gear.car is near 250 hp and weights just 1070 kg.here is virtual dyno with Hondata log of 3rd gear 222 WHP
@doc.tarzan you guessed right.this project was completed via maxpowermotorshorts.here is pic from their fan page
Here is a pic during tuning at ring road.tuning was done live with tuner in Taiwan connected to laptop with 4G

Saw you on not lakpat road some days back..
Was thinking.. Bhai ne fit bichari k sath kia kya hawa ha. Dnt know that it's with k20..
Bro can you tell me international blog Forums like pakwheel where people post there DIY
