Aggressive Driving

Aggressive driving is the operation of a motor vehicle in a manner that endangers or is likely to endanger persons or property. Persons doing any of the following may be committing acts of aggressive driving.

• Speeding

• Running red lights and stop signs

• Tailgating

• Passing on the shoulder of the road

• Cutting off another vehicle

• Slamming on brakes in front of a tailgater

• Improper hand or facial gestures at other drivers Yelling

• Repeatedly honking the horn

• Repeatedly flashing of headlights
  /li

Aggressive driving is a serious problem that is responsible for many traffic accidents and fatalities. It is to your benefit to avoid aggressive drivers and potentially dangerous situations. If you encounter an angry or aggressive motorist:

• Do not retaliate or in any way engage the other driver.

• Get out of the way.
  /li
• Do not make eye contact.
  /li
• Keep your doors locked and your windows up.
  /li
• Keep enough space between you and the vehicle in front of you to pull out from behind.

• Do not underestimate the other driver’s potential for aggression.

Anyone can become an aggressive driver. Do not let stress and frustration get the best of you while driving.

• Be patient and courteous.

• Do not drive when angry, overtired or upset.

• Allow extra time to get to your destination.

• When possible, change your schedule to avoid congestion.

• Listen to relaxing music or books on tape.

• Give other drivers the benefit of the doubt - all drivers make mistakes.

• Avoid all conflict, even if you are right.

Agressive drivers, do avoid at best! If they still have problems then you need to show them who their real daddy is! Works best with kids driving gvernment cars! At an F-6 crossing this 20 something kid showed me the finger coz I honked at him. Well then, I stopped in front of him, got out, opened his door, slapped him, broke his side view mirror and spat on his face! In this country you make your way!

@ GLI, Nice!! though a similar stretedgy for me backfired! honked a landcruiserwala on which he started swearing, hey i was in a smaller car but i wasnt taking BS, long story short, I got out, and from the LC 4 guys came out, yours truly fought couregeously but comeon 4 on 1!! nevertheless, battered and bruise, went to my Dera, got me lads , traced the LC wala, whopped his car and seriously whopped the LC wala aswell! Its all about who has the bigger Danda in the end!! Banana Republic of Pakistan!

@Xtrapreneur, wow!!! I was lucky that there was only one dude in the car, if there were more, I would have just cursed and gone! Man, 4 guys on 1, you must me one tough dude! Dude just be careful, these days dont know which whackos driving what!! And ure right about the danda! I always keep a spare one in my boot!

@GLI, See here is where I made the mistake! I assumed there was this one guy, as the LC was fully tinted! it was AFTER I got out that the other three also emerged! Hence confronting 4 guys wasnt intentional at all!! oh yes a Danda or a .45 in the boot suffices lol!

very very satisfying comments from our distinguished members, much appreciated.

If we start thinking/acting this way then hopefully 2015 would see ppl riding tanks to buy vegetables from nearby markets. only those ppl rise who think/act wise under oppression.

I'd say "patience" is the thing we r missing here, giving rise to selfishness, ego, stubbornness. thats why we see nowhere serene happiness around us.

@punk, lol, anytime man! I admit im a bit crazy, works well in such situations! The next day when my face is twice its normal size do I realise, shoot, should have just ran!

@Xtrapreneur, lol, fo sure! Picking a fight with a tinted car is risky, could be some dangar ppl coming out or a mommy daddy kid! If its the latter, ah, happy holidays!
