In North America, the current, tenth generation of the Corolla series that has been in production since 2006 is more of a redesign of the previous model introduced in the continent in 2002 for the 2003MY.

Despite its lackluster looks, especially when compared to the newer competition, the current Corolla was the fifth best-selling car in the States in 2011 with 232,159 units while this year sales are up by 11 percent through June compared to the first half of 2011.

But far from resting on its laurels, Toyota wants to spice up the next iteration of the Corolla sedan with company officials claiming that it will mark a radical departure from the current model."

Thank goodness they got some sense. I was really doomed when they brought this shape even though it IS better than the 2003 shape. Then the recalls and the natural disasters they faced.....and oh the ugly Camry for now........hope they rise up again with better products. By the way, any idea of what became of the name change? Since it's not Corona, Tercel or Sprinter, i certainly do hope they don't switch to Axio or anything else permanently.

Isnt this suppose to be an old news? 11th Gen Corolla is already in the making, And also ready to be sold as used cars in Japan.

The PKDM or the worldspec Corolla is yet to be seen, But the car is 75% to the JDM spec.

The current shape has been around since four years while the one before it last six so I do believe - or may be it's just strong hope - that it does arrive in Pakistan along with international lines.
