The question should be how the owners of the vehicles will buy the petrol? ( $ trading at 106 almost) the price will go up in future..
Govt want liquid fuel as they generate a lot of revenue from this by applying tax on gasoline. Even a biker generate revenue...
As far as CNG ban as a whole, I collected some numbers and posted various times almost on every thread about CNG. Sharing it again. :D
----------------
Govt didn't had proper CNG policy since the start of this. And if it was never implemented. Many CNG pumps given licenses without any proper survey and this is the major reason of our important reserve falling. You will see pumps one after another. sometimes 3 within 100 feet.
No exploration going on and the existing reserves are falling. They should explore gas and we have large reserves; in north but who will invest in Pakistan. Or buy it from neighbors. :-!
As per 2011 statistics
As of 2011 the CNG Pumps for top two countries are (actual number for Pakistan might be higher for the fact that many illegal op license were given which are not in records)
Iran 1820
Pakistan 3300
Proven gas reserves as per International energy statistics in order of ( 2009-11-12-13) Trillion cubic feet.
Pakistan
2009/31.266
2011/29.671
2012/26.62
2013/24.001
Rank Pakistan 30th in 2011
Iran reserves as of available data of 2012 1046 Trillion cubic feet Ranked 2nd world wide.I am sure actual numbers of cars on CNG in Pakistan will be higher. Pakistan has to explore not only the conventional gas reserves but also the shale gas. all that only possible by overseas exploration firms.
One cubic feet is equal to 0.028 Cubic meters.
