Yaar dekho buhat saaree aisee cheezain hai that are important, but we take them for granted. Like the threat of Aids, Shortage of Water, Global warming. These are issues which public needs to be aware of, because public at large generally tends to ignore the issue. But I find highlighting the importance of Mother;s day in our country, strange. Because I believe we live with eastern values and follow Islam, both of them highlights the importance of parents. And I dont think that any of us is not aware of importance of having our parents with us, and how much positive it brings into our life. So, why one day ??.. Why not whole year or whole life??.
I am not at all against this day, like so called people do, brandishing it a western trait. Yeah, I think the west needs this day, but if someone wants this day to be celebrated here, I am fine with it. But, I dont see it gathering much attention in general, apart from media highlights and few forums. Because of the reason mentioned above, courtesy of our religion and our culture.
