it has core i3 !
hp dv6 with core i3 will cost u 70k+

1564 all the way. the best buy lappy in market nowadays. plus, Dell's online software support is excellent. they mite not be the best laptops, but they sure are the best laptops for pakistan (just my opinion)

You can easily download them from dells website for the version of windows u install !

i purchased this laptop. got it brandnew but i want to know one thing when i enter its service tag no. on dell website it shows me 9 months warranty. galaxy computer gave me full 1 year local warranty.Is this how it is supposed to be?

Im also under this same dillema...whether to buy Dell inspiron 1564 or HP DV6-2150us... as someone pointed out DV-6 is for 70k...but Ive read so many great reviews from buyers internationally particularly on Amazon website...that Im tempted to buy it. There's around 10k price difference between dell 1564 (after upgraded to 4MB RAM and licensed windows 7 installation) and HP DV6 but heard HP is way too fast for this price range...hard disk speed is also 7200 rpm (higher than standard 5400 rpm) while size is also higher than dell at 320 GB. It's newly launched but has the potential to be a bestseller..

As far as Dell 1564 is concerned, it also has almost everything that you need these days..but I didnt much like the design, keyboard specially, when I checked it in market. But price difference is quite substantial... so I'm still undecided.

@Flirty.. the remaining 9 months warranty is becaused of delay in sale of that particular laptop by the local dealer with whom you purchased ur laptop. Since it's only 3 months past warranty, I think it's brand new (and not refurb).. By the way are you satisfied with the laptop? What battery life you getting? also u liked ur laptop's speed at 2MB RAM or u want to upgrade it to 4MB?

Khurem im very much satisfied with its performance.Battery time is little above 2 hours.I would suggest u buy one with dedicated 512MB ATI Radeon Graphics Card.Price difference is around 2k. It has latest core i3 processor,very fast at multitasking.All that in 54k.
