The air con compressor (motor) operates on DC inverter technology.
Conventional air con. compressor operate on constant speed thus utilising current (running current) at a constant rate. They switch OFF according to the thermostate setting once temperature is achieved. They switch ON again when temp. has risen to a certain level and during this switching ON, they consume a lot of current called motor starting current than normal. This happens through out the running of AC.
DC inverter based air con compressor varies its speed as per the load requirement (cooling load) and slows down once the cooling has been achieved thus using less current. It does not switch ON/OFF during operation and runs continuously and does not consume huge staring current for that matter. Both these characteristics make saving of 30 to 40% in your electricity consumption. Also, it uses 410r refrigerant not the old R22. Rifrigerent R410 is 20% more efficient than r22.
