Shiraz, congratulations on considering to pursue a PhD. However, I do warn you that this is a journey fraught with difficulties. Unfortunately, people in Pakistan do not appreciate the pursuit of education and will also try to discourage you. You'll often have to justify your decision to study for a PhD to Pakistanis. You may spend 25 lacs on a new car and no one would bat an eye, but if you were to spend 10 lacs on higher education people would think that you're a lunatic.
A lot depends on where you want to study. If you're thinking of applying abroad then they're quite stringent in their admission criteria and would not admit you in a domain where you dont have strong fundamentals in the field of your proposed study. I'm not sure about the case in Pakistan.
The best approach would be to contact your target department+university and talk to them while giving your educational background. They usually would be able to help you out.
