family members were having it done but interestingly enough it was surprising the amount of conflicting information at the customer service centres. one centre even told completely wrong info about name of sims even though one can check it clearly from PTA's website and would not deacvtivate unused sims, while the other service centre of the same carrier did.
another service centre of different carrier would not verify sim with bio meteric and said wait for message on your phone, if you dont get any message that means the sim is already verified but it hadn't been before and no amount of stressing would make them to allow verification. they kept saying wait for message three times, if your sim was not verified it would have closed already?
lot of wrong statements made by some customer service centres of different carriers so would advise people to be careful and when in doubt check from PTA's website and dont rely blindly on what the customer service centres says.
if in confusion always visit another service centre, any confusion would be cleared
