Assalam-0-Alaikum guys,
Brothers I need your help regarding this: I bought "RATO" 2.5 kv generator approximately an year ago. I ran it on petrol for the first 100 hours and then I shifted it to natural gas with the gas kit that came with it. It ran fine for an year or so (I changed oil every 50-60 hours, and ran it on petrol for 5-6 hours every other week).
Now it has clocked over 2200+ hours according to its meter. And now it keeps shutting down on natural gas. If I run it on petrol, it works fine but on gas, it sometimes work for 20 minutes and sometimes for 2 hours straight.
I called the mechanic (official mechanic for the "rato" generator) and he said that you should mix some oil in petrol (little amount of oil) and run it for like 5-10 hours and this will solve your problem. It just needs lubrication.
Now I don't believe him. 4 stroke engines don't need oil mix with their fuel. Do they?
What do you guys think? should I give it a try ? will it hurt my gen's engine ?
