Default Corolla Xli and SE Saloon fuel consumption difference

Hi can any one give any idea about difference of fuel consumption between xli n se saloon?
I have been told that there is not much difference between them. Which I refused to believe.
It would be better if any one can give average idea about km/litre.
Hoping for a prompt response as I am planning to buy a corolla but confused between 1300 n 1600 CD engine ( keeping in view the current situation of CNG and petrol availability)

I too heared the same, as i own XLI soo iam getting average of 180 KMS/cylinder in local and 200 KMS/cylinder on highway, (All without AC) my cylinder capacity is 10KG, and havnt observed on petrol as i live in pesh soo no such issue of CNG avalibility.
I think Engine to body ration matters fuel consumption rather then engine capacity. sooo a 1600 CC car wil make less effort to achieve a speed hence low fuel. and 1300 cc wil do hard to get that output. Better go for SE Saloon with power and u'll get it at reasonable price, XLI's prices are sky high.

From what I know the 2012 corolla xli averages about 18 km/liter on highways (petrol) given if driven sensibly.

I have altis 07, it gives me 11km/ltr on Petorl MASHALLAH. Whearas xli saloon gives the same. So i don't think there is much different.. Except Pakistan Corolla comes in 1.8 or more ltr. But here it comes in 1.3 as well, its quite small engine for the huge body size. Xli would apply more power while 1.8 would not. So they are almost same.. Xli is good in CNG ! I had the 07 model gave me around 120km ltr easily .. In city with AC

I have SE Saloon and on CNG i get around 100kms per cylinder. And for petrol i get 90km per Rs.1000 of petrol. (102/litre rate)

ive got a se saloon 2 days ago from a cousin . just drove it to gujranwala from islamabad and what i noticed its fuel consumption is much better than any car i got exact 18.6 km/litre,mashAllah, with ac on for 50% of the time. our 2009 xli and 2013 gli does 17 on highway.OD was ON throughout the journey xcept for turning it off momentarily for by passing some car.average speed 80 km/h and car mantained 2000 to 2200 rpm throughout

P.S:i know many are not going to believe this even i was somewhat astonished
as a side note car is auto and all the preventive maintenance done in time , tyres are 195/65/15 michellen energy saver. after buying i planned to install stock size tires i e 185/65/14 for enhanced fuel consumption but not gonna do now.

It depends on how person drives and AC usage. My Xli 2006 gives me 10km/liter

Man at speed of 80 its possible as 60-80kph are for fuel economy but try to drive it 100+ and share the mileage

    Salam,
I've got a 06 xli and i think the output I'm getting is very bad after reading thjs post. It is giving me maximum 70km on a full tank (55kg tank) is it fine or is there some problem ? if there is a problem then what can I do to make the milleage better ?
(oil changed, stock condition, plugs changed, recommended size tyre)

It would be suitable if anyone could help me out on text rather then here.
    Thanks.
