Dear,
My Civic UH '11 also had the same prob at 103,000km. Always get my Hondas maintained from HF, and honestly only getting it replaced is the best solution. My car now has 125K on the ODO and boy what an amazing fun it is to drive. Just remember to mix some High Octane with each top up as different fuel consistencies and water deposits from 'baoozers' is what kills your CatCon over time - Also try sticking to one pump, which obvious has Hi Octance.
Other possible solutions include:
1) Breaking the honeycomb inside, commonly referred to as "jaali torna"
2) This guy in ISL who breaks the original honeycomb while replacing is with normal mesh - Not tried but sounds scientific. Atlas check engine light won't come on, tricks the sensors as gas/O2 saturations will be measured before and after the mesh.
HF is a well reputed and most workers there are honest, ask for Supervisor Majid to guide you.
Honestly, the best thing to do is get it changed and adopt the fuel mix policy and you'll see the difference. These cars need to be pampered and theres a difference why even after driving an accord and jumping into the driver seat of a UH Civic you won't feel 'much' change... Theres a reason why Honda recommends certain parts change, its not only related to emissions, the CatCon does much more - if you want to keep the ride for some time, opt for change if want to sale opt for options 1) or 2).
