    Default Help needed belta totally down on performance.

    Any belta 2005 1.0 expert out there please help as my recently bought belta is out of juice, yesterday I took a test drive on motorway and couldnt even catchup the mehrans and coures. It just refused to go beyond 90km/hour.
    please suggest a good mechanic here in peshawar to show him.

    Mr Mumtaz, a little patience goes a long way...
    these guys here at PW are realy happy to help guys like us with questions, its just that everyone is very busy and has own schedule to run, so t may take some time, but when they do come back they have loads of info! trust me on that

    Vajih, Waqas and Lovable are the guys to look for info on beltas

    i wish i could help you on that,..but im just another guy planning to get a 1.3L belta soon...

    may i ask you for how much did you get your belta? and why did you choose 1.0L version?

    you'd go to any of toyota dealer n i'd advise to avoid local mechanic as they may ruin your car n also waste your time n money
    ITS BETTER TO KEEP SMALLER NEW CARS RATHER THAN OLDER BIG ONES...

    Thanks for the reply. The reason I got impatient was that I did post previously regarding my problem and can u imagine around 40 views and absolutely no reply.The fact that the car reacted to my utter disappointment and I thought well I have just wasted my money. However I have fixed its problem and now im more than delighted. The 1.0 just suits my needs and I got it in a fairly good deal.

    Thanks for the advise but believe me it was a local mechanic who was very quick to diagnose and got it corrected. it was just a wornout fuel filter. Before that I did go to toyota dealer. It was a bit casual approach just routine plug/filter check and thats all.

    Well its been a week now and i have just started appreciating the joy which belta carries. Till now it was as if it was under some sort of anaesthesia- Ketamine I guess till that mechanic gave a reversal with stigma or something like it

    @nmumtaz

    when u do post a question, please allow ample time for the more learned members to come online and help you out. maybe out of those 40 views no one knew or knew enough to comment on the problem.

    as a pakwheeler you are expected to know that when u buy a new car the 1st thing u do is to take it for a complete service, oil, fuel filter, oil filter, plugs and air filter.

    anyways very pleased to hear that your belta is now going good. grace us with some pictures as well please.

    LOL @ Mr Mumtaz!

    hahaha, absolutely sir!
    but i'm wondering, if it was ketamine, then it must have had some hallucinations or delirium of some sort, noticed anything like that? LOL!

    may be the fuel filter that the mechanic installed had some anabolic steroids in it...??? LOL!

    i'm more than glad to know that your problem has been sorted out and that you are enjoying your belta. and i find it very encouraging!

    do post some pics whenever (and if ) you get time because i reckon you are a doc too... would love to see your car. also share your experiences from time to time.....

    Cheers!

    @tauseef
    Yes surely i have realized it by now.Patience is the name of the game. But having heard so much good about the car I was expecting alooooooooot. And I was very keen to know if there is a real problem or is it just its inherent nature.
    Sure i,ll share its pics once I put it into top shape.
    @Drshaggy
    Well so far the recovery is good enough.No post op complications so far. Im still evaluating its performance including its fuel economy which i feel is not yet upto the mark. May be a little more is required from some really good mechanic which I find hard to locate here in Peshawar.Moreover one cant find beltas here at peshawar and the experience is very little among the local mechanics.
    And yes you have guessed right. I am a Surgeon and work as senior registrar at LRH Peshawar. Shall post the pics as soon as I give it a bit of face and "feet" lift.
