The lifeline of NYC. each salt spreader cost around USD 200K. Carries 16 tons of rock salt as well as 700 gallons of brine. Each truck is GPS connected and sends track able data of road conditions to control rooms. Also pubic can monitor it online to see activity of the trucks around them. Trucks need to make a pass a point every 40 minutes in case of continues snow. The time is reduced or increased on basis of the strength of snow fall. Currently NYC (Not state) has around 400 of such trucks operational in addition to 2400 plows.
