I have created this thread to apprise you of the terrifying experience I am under-going on booking of a New Corolla. Buying a new Car is supposed to be a pleasant experience. I was very excited upon buying a brand new car for the first time with my Hard earned cash. So on the 13th of November I headed to a nearby dealership in Islamabad to book the Altis 1.6 which had just been launched a few days earlier. I handed over to them pay order for Rs. 500,000 being partial payment with promise to deliver the car in January, 2015. The dealership told me I would be given a PBO "soon". A few days passed with no news of the PBO upon which I got worried and asked them but they told me not to worry and that I would be informed as soon as its ready. After another few days I got the same reply after which I started making regular visits to the dealership but to no avail. In mid of January, 2015 which was supposed to be the delivery month, I had had enough and decided to complain to Indus for Non issuance of PBO. I therefore sent a detailed email to Indus Customer Relations and got a reply from them same day to inform me that they are looking into the matter. On 30th Jan, 2015 I was finally issued a PBO after 78 days of Initial Payment with delivery month of February.
I felt relieved that now finally my misery was almost over. However, things kept on getting worse. During Mid February, I contacted the dealership myself regarding final payment and they asked me to deposit it, so on 18th of February I gave them pay orders for the remaining payment of 1472K and WHT. After a couple of days I called Indus on Helpline to inquire if my car had been invoiced. To my horror, the lady on the telephone informed that no such PBO was visible to her in Indus Record. Apparently, the dealership had issued me the PBO but messed up the payment due to which there was no record of my PBO. I headed straight to the dealership and after continuous follow up with them as well as Indus, my PBO was finally visible to Indus customer relations on 23rd Feb, 2015. However, the customer services ppl in Indus told me that they still haven't received my final payment even though I had already done it on 18th Feb, 2015. I was in a fix as Indus denied they had received the payment while dealership insisted that they have forwarded the payment to Indus already. This blame game continued and finally after much follow up, Indus finally agreed on 1st March, 2015 that they have received the full payment.
Today is 9th of March and still I have no news on my car. Furthermore, I asked someone at another dealership to assist and he informed me that as per Indus, you made late payment on 1st March therefore you will now get your car in the month of April or May.
Right now, I hugely regret my decision to go for a corolla. This whole experience has been nerve wrecking to say the least. If anyone else has been through a similar experience, please let me know and also any advice on resolving the matter will be appreciated. Thanks
