    Default Daewoo accident on Motorway

This morning my colleague saw a news on Express and Geo that last night a Daewoo Buss coming to Lahore had an accident on motorway. Accident happended because the driver fell asleep. 4-5 deaths have been reported. Surprizingly i have not been able to find any news on any website. My colleague who himself saw the news in the morning at about 6AM told me that daewoo management must have used their contacts and resources to make sure that the news is not leaked out so probably it has been removed from the websites and Tv channels. did anybody see that news or witness that accident??

Yes. indeed very sad. the news strip in the morning clearly reported that the driver fell asleep. They even showed the front of Daewoo completely damaged.

Accidents on motorway are becoming a routine really. Two sundays back i was coming from Islamabad and when i crossed sukheki, the whole traffic coming to lahore was diverted to sheikhupura and motorway had to be closed because of a collision between a bus and a trailer, just after sheikhupura interchange. Few deaths were reported in that accident also.

I agree that accidents do happen everywhere but in Pakistan, a major reason is lack of traffic sense and no regards to the rules. There are many signs on motorway clearly saying that please take a rest if u r sleepy, but when we are behind the wheels, we consider ourselves so macho and overconfident that we dont pay any regards to the signboards.

People in PK really don't have any concept on driving etiquette or even how to control/opperate a car correctly (specially the village boys who have moved to the city). I don't really blame them, they are inherently stupid (since they don't know any better), i DO however blame the people responsible for issuing these idiots with liscences. It would seem they do it just to make money regardless of the consequences.

it's like giving a monkey a liscence to own and carry a gun.

Never argue with an idiot, they will bring you down to their level & beat you with experience, 5. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young! 6. انّا للہ و انّا الیہ راجعون
