maybe 1300 cc a litle out of question but no doubt about 1000 cc.

Yup,, it can. Infact not the new breed such as City or Xli but interms of small cars it can surely give them a whopping. I myself beated a Mitsu Pajero 88 intercooler by Datsun 120Y Coupe 1981 (B210) with new A12 motor on a 40 km strip in offroad by almost 5 min lead.
Alto, Khyber and Coure got gudd pick but they aint acheive tht gudd top speed, normally 120 whereas a maintained 120y with a gudd clutch plate can reach upto 140kmh.

The one i used was 1979 and it was normal to defeat khyber on long runs

well i drove it and except then its handling the engine is quite promising and it feels like a muslcular car just like a ford mustang anf its solid iron body make it indistructable

guys i am big 120Y fan and i own a 1981 GL (with rpm meter, 3-spoke steering etc) sedan. i have had the car for last 5 years and despite very rough usage, it ran trouble free and never disappointed me.
i must say that Datsun 120Y is probably the most well-engineered car of its time. simple and easy to maintain yet immensely reliable with an amazing suspension for pakistani roads. also the pick is decent even with CNG and it starts on half self on CNG.
impressed by these virtues, i am currently getting my car restored with baked painted and all original body parts. they are all easily available and cheap to buy.
will post pictures by October 15 once my car is done.

hey sUperMaN,

hey i dont think anyone except u has made such a comment.
i think anyone with good sense of automotive engineering will appreciate the durability, reliability and fuel economy offered by that car.

it gives better mileage and acceleration than the new Alto (2004) I have plus not to mention atleast 20 more years of service life than the cheap/low-quality stuff offered these days under the disguise of 'innovative technology and designs'.

how can u say like this to car which is ahead of its time and u can still see every one gave their commplements about this car but no one said the biggest thing about this car it realibilty this car is like a solid titanic i know i droved it one night it wa raining heavily i didn't saw the piller of my house and drove the left end of the car in that piller and i saw it was a 25Km crash but the only thing distroyed was a

piece of paint on the upper side of the light can u beleive if their was some other car the crash would have broken the front left side including the front drive shaft.

not to forget that this car is a rare wheel drive soo it is realy fun in driving fast and driffting and tailling i mean if u have a nice set up engine then this car is good for burnouts
