I've so far never left Karachi and the Arabian Sea region except for a week in 1996, so I can tell you that our guys who say that Karachi (and Pakistan, for that matter) has everything are spot-on. Besides all the great destinations already mentioned, since you're coming in December Insha Allah, why not try something different? Provided it is not against one's religion and the law, it never hurts. Check out these threads: this and this.
Those who have never seen the sky's treasures (because most of us live under domes of wasted artificial light) never know what they are missing.
Not to say that you become a hardcore skywatcher, but since Karachi currently hosts Pakistan's (and Saudia's) biggest telescope, you might want to have a look through it on a clear, cold night.
