Default Preparations/Naran/Muzaffarabad/Rawlakot/Banjusa lake on LC (Spitfire).

    Salamz Brothers....
I am here with another traveling thread for your viewing pleasure....We made this trip in July 2010 and wanted to share the pics with you earlier but due to lack of time.....could not do so ......
Route was quite long...Islamabad-Naran-Balakot-Muzaffarabad-Murree-Islamabad-Rawalakot-Banjusa lake and back to home....Lahore.
Vehicle used in this trip was Toyota Land Cruiser model 1996...This jeep is an active vacation model having an incomplete kitchen....but we equipped/ completed it and did most of our cooking our self (pics will be included).....
This thread will be having almost 500+ pics.....I will try my best to conclude this thread quickly.....but please bear with me as pauses/delays in posting pics are expected...
    Regards....

Like in any tourist country ... Thailand has its issues. It is really difficult to get rid of the hotel agents, taxi drivers, and pimps dealing with flesh trade ... other than that, I have very good experience with Thai people.

They are very nice and polite. It is real fun to do shopping. Actually I enjoy the bargaining part with the shopkeepers. They don't let you go ... and finally you end up with a lot of extra baggage ...

... It is amazing to see that at Bangkok airport, "muk mukaa" on extra baggage is very common. They ask you to pay half of the extra baggage through their touts .... however, since this is very common, it actually endangers the flight safety.

The pilot does not have a correct picture of how much exact weight his plane is carrying

    @askhokhar......

    Salamz Sattar Bhai.....
I am really sorry for absence....missed you brothers a lot.....
You may know that we have another village named "MOKAL" other than Sahiwal....
We cultivated wheat In Mokal as well on quite a large area......Its an interesting place right on the border of INDIA.....
I had to start wheat harvesting there as well.....So I was in "MOKAL" for few days,I was absent from here....
You know its our "Cash Crop"........and bread n butter for the whole year.........

As you said that old restored cars always contain rust.....I agree with you,but it all depends upon the restorer.....The amount of money and time he can spend on the project.Unrestored/unmolested original cars fetch better results than Badly restored or "Chaloo Kaam" which people mostly do to sell the car....
A bad attempt to restore a car is Like "Kiss of death" and is impossible to undo sometimes as original shapes are destroyed........
These Alcoholic drivers really ruin the cars.....Story is just the same with this BMW Z3 as you said about your celica....
On my return from village.....had a visit to the showroom today to finalize the deal...but came to know that car is in the work shop.......
went to workshop to have a look at it and inquire about the "condition of the patient"...lolzzz...
And came to know that its ABS and ASC Unit is not working ...giving lights in the dash....
Costs 100000 (one hundred thousand) and will have to order......lets see..."AB KIA HOTA HAI".....
As you said that sourcing parts from abroad is not simple and easy....

    @askhokhar.....

Light and short wheel base SUVs are "FAR MORE" user friendly as compared to these heavy weight LCs....
I traveled upto Lulusir lake on Mini Pajero and did the same route with LC.....
    Both Having Pros and cons....
Mini was light/small easy to maneuver....not requiring much space to turn...etc etc...But at the same time Lacking space and power...requiring a very "watchful" foot to avoid any damage to the engine or mechanicals.....
LC is a monster with plenty of Power under your foot and a lot of weight carrying capacity......but tricky to drive on narrow mountain roads and very sharp turns......as I could go to almost half way through "Sharan"in this trip....
The suzuki you used for your trip is very capable Machine.....
An interesting experience I had with Suzuki Gimny 660CC which was swapped with 1300CC DOHC...
I used the jeep for a "QUICK VISIT" to snow covered Nathia gali and it performed very well....Captured a lot of pics to share....
    But I don't Know when.......
And I was all alone in this trip....another interesting experience............
Listening to the music of my choice ,without having any fight with kids....

... since you take photos while driving, I just thought about recommending installation of a dash cam. A good quality dash-cam costs about 100 dollars or less. Many models can work in total dark as well. You must have seen the dash-cams in police videos on channels like Discovery and National Geographic.

I wanted to install a dashcam with DVR in the car, but since my car has to move around in the red zone all the day, therefore, its installation might be objectionable. So I have pended that idea for now. It is a small gadget which installs behind the rear view mirror. The model I was interested in had memory of 64-GB ..

This idea seems interesting....Hanif Bhai...@Libra tried the same with a cam....performed well on smooth roads, but was stuck on bumpy and rough roads....
I have and old sanyo Video camera using small tapes.....made videos of the way while driving ....specially on the road from Naran To Jalkhad....
don't know ...how to share them here....
    What?????......hain.....
I can hear you "LAUGHING" at my camera..............

I feel that with all positive aspects ...these mobile phones have added some stress in our lives too.....
Losing Interest in BMWs is a serious condition.......

Actually I belong to "kashtkar" Tabka....and you know that it is harvesting season of wheat.....A sort of "Financial" months of the year.....
the Lands are scattered and I am the only person to take care of all the affairs....
So these Pauses are due to my absence to start harvesting of wheat in my villages.........
    You see...our Bread and butter.....
Although I had my Lap top with me but could not find time to come on line and post pics....
    sorry brother for that....
I will try to accelerate the speed of posting...
    I hope you understand......
