KKH road is good and cars can go to Gilgit but not on full speed.

I have heard that there are Taliban and terrorist activities in Chitral/Kelash. can somebody confirm that?

better you park your car at abshaar hotel in dir bazar they charge money per day for keeping your car parked in there hotel .. from there you can hire a land cruiser for kalash valley .. or if you want they charge per pessenger on land cruiser because the mode of transpotation from dir is 4x4. you can't take your car to kalash but i have traveled to kalash in toyota station wagon car which can be hire in only chitral .
from dir kalash valley turn comes first and then after a half or so hour drive let you to chitral .. so better option is hire a LC from dir bazaar and take it to kalash . and if you want good accommodation then don't forget to book PTDC motel of kalash.
and the 13th to 15th of may is a big festival days of Kalash . you will surely enjoy it a lot .

i post this thread.... first of all bro it was in 2005 way b4 army operation started in lower or upper dir.....and the road wasnt bad....just some of the patches was like that.....we went on our uni buses upto deer (or dir) and from there we hire jeeps as buses cant go upto chitral......so if u are goin on any suv or car its fine....
