Urgent Info Required for Sawat Valley

Dear All PW Fellows

Assalam o Alaikum!


We were having a confirmed plan for Naran Valley on 2nd day of EID but unfortunately have to cancell due to security reasons.

Now we don't want to waste our leaves & have two options 1. Neelom Valley 2. Sawat Valley

We Have picked Sawat Valley, please let me know what should our plan to explore valley.

Our planning is,


Sialkot to Sawat 2nd Day of EID at 80 pm via BUS

Day1

Day 2

Day 3

and return on day 3 nightfor Sawat to Sialkot, please advice important points of Sawat Kalam valley.

Secondly what precaution to follow,i.e.,

Any Security Concerns or no go Areas?

Weather conditions i.e., should we take warm cloths along?

looking for your quic respons.

There haven't been any security concerns during my many different trips of Swat valley in recent times. The areas beyond Madyan/Bahrain have never had security issues at all (even during troubled times) so as long as you cross Mingora during daytime things should be A OK. Some places to visit are Kalam, Mahodand Lake, Gabral Valley and Kharikhali Lake. Kundol Lake day trek if you are adventurous....

Day 1: If u depart at 8pm then u should be in Mingora early morning. USe day 1 to visit Malam Jabba and then try to reach Kalam by day end.

Day 2: Visit Ushu valley, kalam forest, Mahudand Lake and Byun village

Day 3: Visit Utror valley and day trek to Kundol Lake

Day 4: Start return journey. It will take around 6-7 hours to reach Mingora from Kalam and then estimate your time onwards to Sialkot.

All areas in Swat are safe and no security issues.

yar marghazar is located just a few kms from saidu sharif.

from main mingora u can reach saidu sharif which is practically in mingora......


its not very complicated and u can easily reach there

Eid Mubarak and here is the route of Marghzar

When u reach the outskirts of Mingora (Swat) then u are travelling with a mountain on your right. Once that mountain finishes then open city space comes. There turn to right away from main N95 towards Amankot which is also called Marghzar road.

It will take u to main bazar of Saidu Sharif. Cross it and keep following Marghzar road.

The rest of the way is very simple once u come out of main city.

White Palace is 15 km from N95 turning point.

no security issues....but instead of swat, neelum will be good...there will be nothing to enjoy before kalam, and mahodand lake after kalam is only good accessible place...and road from madyan uptil kalam(45km) is totally unmettaled and rough, bcoz of last years flood

dont miss shangla top... it is a must to visit place ... and now road is amazingly beautiful from khowazakhaila up to top..............
