    Default Sajikot Waterfall Havelian

    Assalam u Alaikum,
All thanks to Imran Arif for introducing such a beautiful place to pakwheels members through his following thread...
Sajikot Waterfalls - A Hidden Beauty

We also visited this place on 6th April 2013....

    Route Info:

    Islamabad-Havelian (Roughly 100 KM) (2-2.5 Hour)
    Four routes are possible.

    1. The preferred one is via Motorway (If you are not coming from Pind/Islamabad) and exit on the Burhan Interchange. Then move a few KM's back towards Hassanabdal and turn on KKH. Excellent road condition but you have to travel a few KM's more.
    2. Other option is to take the G.T Road and reach Taxila and turn towards Hattar-Haripur road. Good road condition although there are many speed breakers on this road.
    3. A third option is to turn towards the Khanpur-Haripur road before reaching Taxila. The shortest path but road condition is not so good.
    4. Fourth option is to take G.T Road and turn from Hassanabdal. This is the preferred route for Islamabad/Rawalpindi people as after the construction of the underpass at Taxila and good road condition it has become the better option.

The time taken will be between 2 - 2.5 hours depending upon the time of day you are traveling and the the rush conditions as well as your driving style. I have seen people reaching Abbotabad with in 2 hours but caution should be taken on this road as the public transport on this road (Specially Hiaces) do very rash driving.

Havelian - Sajjikot (Roughly 25 KM) (45-60 min.)
You will have to pass through Havelian city. Just before the bridge on a big Nala you will take a right turn (If you are coming from Haripur side). Then you should ask about the Sajjikot road. It is a very famous road and village and everybody in Havelian knows about it and will guide you to the right path.
For the first few kilometers in Havelian and in the suburbs the road is bad. But once you are out of Havelian the road is in excelent condition. The only bad thing about this road is the huge speedbreakers (More sort of Car Breakers) in almost every town that we pass on the road.
Also note that during this 25KM patch we will ascend and there are a few hair pin bends with steep ascend just like Pir Sohawa. So if you are comfortable to take your vehicle to Pir Sohawa there will be no problem at all for you to take it to Sajjikot.

    Sajjikot Waterfall:
It is roughly 1-1.5KM ahead of Sajjikot bazaar on the same road. When you cross Sajjikot you cross a Nala. The waterfall is visible from the road or at least audible from the road.
Also note that it is a 3 step waterfall. The first two are small steps and the last one and the most famous one is huge. But the upper two steps are also beautiful. If you want to visit them then you should descend just before the main waterfall.

The road between Havelian and Sajjikot (after passing suburbs of Havelian) is very beautiful as well as in excellent condition. Somewhere in the first 10KM from Havelian....

After gaining quite altitude we stopped at a place from where the whole valley was visible... One local boy told us that this place is called "Cheer Gali"... I don't know if he was true about the name or not but it was a very beautiful place and showed us from where we have came.

The complete valley... (Due to the position of sun I couldn't take a good picture of the valley) Note that Havelian is on the left side of the picture and looking forward we see the Abbotabad mountains....

    Default Sajjikot Waterfall

As I have stated earlier it is a 3 step waterfall.. The first 2 steps are small but beautiful and equally dangerous. To view the upper two steps you have to descend at the top of the big waterfall... To get the real picture of what the steps are you should watch this video preferably in HD.....

    Default Sajjikot Waterfall

    Warning:
I must warn anyone visiting this place.... The water in all the ponds is very deep... Easily deep enough to drown any one and one should take care if one want to take a bath in these pools... Specially no one should ever try to take a bath in the upper pools as they are very deep right from the beginning... The biggest pool is where one can take a bath as it has shallow waters at the start. The dark green patch is where it is really deep and I mean really deep. Locals told us that it could be as deep as 15-20 ft. I know swimming and I can confirm that at least it is deeper than 7ft. as I tried to put my feet down but I couldnot....

The biggest step as seen from the top..... A local told us that some boys do a jump from this point to the pond below. It must be at least a 50-60 ft. jump... I highly doubt it as the local had only heard and not seen this jump...

Road is on the top... You will have to go down on foot... IT is almost a 5 min. descend and is an easy one... Preferably you and your family members should have joggers. Yes it is a dirt/stone track just like the fire line track on track 3 in Islamabad.
