Just had a wonderful trip of Mohadand lake swat from 12th Till 14th Dec, 2013. The experience was good. Although no hotels were open in swat. Only 2 hotels were open. We stayed in hotel Holiday Resort. It is excellent hotel with fair of just Rs 1000. Rooms were very good with hot water (in buckets) so we didnt try much bargening for rent. The owner Mr Afreen Khan is excellent guy. Mob3149700618. We travelled in Shahid Coach 03009079701. Rent is Rs 1100. Guys mark my word this service is excellent and compets Daewoo in every standard. Your own head phone with three to four audio channels to pick along with movie as well. Where as Daewoo's rent is Rs 1600. We left at 10:30pm wednesday night and reached Mangora(Fiza Ghat) around 6am. Right there were toyota Hiace stand. It took around 4 hours to reach Kalam i.e. around 10:30am. Fair was Rs 250. Road is in pathetic condition from Bahrain onwards. But good news is that its all under construction. One word of advise is make sure to sit on front seat of toyota even if you have to wait for half an hour or so.
We moved aroung swat on foot on thurday. Walked to pine forest then local village "Bayoon". Next day we rented a surf jeep and went for Mohadand lake. It was awsome experience. Though roads were blocked with snow and most of the drivers were willing to go only till "water Fall" but we convinced our driver to go further. But even then we had to walk through snow. It was very good experience. Lake was mostly coverd with snow. our local guide told us that in summer specially in swat festival there are camps erected even in lake area. But in our visit lake was all alone and lonley and had a awsome beauty of its own. It was great experience. Swat city its self is almost 95% closed. only a few shops and one or two local dhabas for food are open. You wont find any food after Magrib prayer there.
Over all it was a great winter attraction. Thanks to all guys on PakWheel forum from where i got the guidance to plan my trip.
