For the past few years I have been regularly visiting Soon Sakesar valley. This valley had a lot to offer with an added advantage that it is still on the ignored list of "civilized tourists". So recently I started my winter season with a weekend trip to the valley. We were two.
But when I returned back to Lahore, disappointment forced me to delete the contact information of the only hotel in Soon valley. Why! I have now lost interest and still wondering what has happened to this picturesque valley since Jan that was my second last visit there:
Road from Khushab to Naushera is in very bad shape with pot holes every where.
Then from Naushera to Uchhali lake, road even worst.
Uchhali lake is drying up at least at the point where there is boating point
I did not try reaching Jhalar lake as my corolla had enjoyed enough torture since we had left khushab
Khabiki lake that was the highlight of my every trip has already lost more than half of its size.
Kanhatti garden's first camping site has tons of trash. The other campsite's only washroom is in very "dirty" condition. We are sorry WWF.
When I asked locals, they said it rained less this year. I did not accept this reason as my corolla was stuck in a duldul last year near Khabiki lake that I had considered firm soil, this lake had shrunk last year as well. Then pathetic road network also speaks differently....it must have rained a lot that killed the roads in less than a year. Even it was constantly raining the first day of our visit.
Then mazaars that were here and there in the valley have doubled and everywhere there were urs posters and wall chalking. Nothing particular to traveling just an observation!
Pictures will speak
