It was 2.30PM when we started our journey from Sust to Khunjerab after filling up our car's tank at PSO Sust. Petrol here was 90rs/l. Before leaving for Khunjerab we got a Zong sim as all of other networks did not have any coverage there. So we headed towards border, after leaving the town of Sust you can easily feel the signs of proximity with China by looking at Sign boards in chinese, chinese construction workers, Chinese trucks and buses etc. Road from Sust was as good as before and we kept on covering the distance at good speed mostly in 4th gear to have a good control over vehicle. Khunjerab is almost 85Km from Sust and it takes around 2 hours to reach there and according to our plan we had to come back before the sunset. After passing numerous tunnels, we reached a check post where we had to submit our ID card which was given back to us on our return. Then you enter Khunjerab National Park with an entry fees of 40rs per person. After travelling for half an hour more we started our ascent towards border, KKH is literally 8th wonder of world and this location really justifies it when snow capped mountains are on your side. There were many Yawks wandering around and we felt that we are not at all alone. At this moment your body and your car's engine starts to show some performance degradation due to lack of oxygen at 16000ft above sea level.
Finally we reached the border, ODO had 1094Km on it which was reset at LHR and it was a big moment for us. We had finally accomplished what we started at Lahore about 2 days ago.
Tunnel to avoid land sliding, a good engineering idea.
