PW Complaint Thread a.k.a Shikayat Cell 2010

Dear Pakwheelers,

I enjoy every moment I spend on Pakwheels learning and sharing where I can. Its one of the few Pakistani forums which have not turned into a fishmarket unlike many other forums which have within the first year of their launch.

HOWEVER, recently I have come across several people complaining that Pakwheels isn't the same anymore, that it is 'losing the charm', that the discussions aren't 'of the same calibre', that many 'worthy members have left Pakwheels'.

The last part, especially, makes us think that we're doing something wrong.

This is a thread to file your complaints and suggestions to make Pakwheels a better experience. There's a whole section of feedback and suggestions : this thread however is time specific to address the issues we're facing now, at the twilight of 2010.

What you think should be done for the betterment of Pakwheels. What should be avoided, and what is lacking? What have we lost over the years which has made people think that its not ''the same anymore''. What has made some very worthy members leave? Where is it losing the charm? How to make the discussions more useful?

Post all the suggestions, comments, feedback, no matter how wild/over-the-edge they sound, they will be considered seriously.

well from what i have observed. i would request the entire pakwheels community to answer and post in a mature way..

no petty fights or comments..
having fun is ok but not if it makes the post go out of control

Reason no. 1) posts like the one above. Complete and utter spam when the topic starter has already put forward a comprehensive post. Maybe some people should realize post count does not means anything.

i wud say activate the pw chat thing, and alloy the honda vs toyota war n other similar things ONLY in the chat, so that the forums dont suffer...

1-Sir I dont think that seniour members have left pakwheels due to some negative reasons , may be they were busy and couldnt browse pakwheels , coz many of our seniour and expert members r still in touch with us.
2-the no of regulars members is growing day by day.

sure .. i wil giv u one example saw an add on pw of honda city manual that was 2009 model... that guy was asking 13.60 for that i asked him thrice bhai jan whats ur last he said 13.30.. is this demand justified ? he was saying it has a gud sound system rims nd this n that.. bhai jan in market the same car is available in 12.5 to 12.7
the car was gud no doubt but in market these things u add or not counted if u have add things like rims n sound system for 40 - 50 thousand so u have taken the stock material out so equalizes the thing .. if any one thinks that these things worth more so take things out sale them n put stock things n ask at the market price...i have seen at least 100s of adds askin too much ...waisay it does not matter to any 1 but i have seen remarks of many fellows that people ask too much here so that sounds odd. plz tell me if im wrong..

This is something that we cannot control. The seller has a right to demand whatever he wants.

1- Busy life? Not really..atleast not all of them. Many of them have notified before leaving.

2- So Quantity > Quality it is?

@Jahangir - Can you please suggest how can the website admin control the asking price of vehicles?

The only way I see is for the admin to go and personally inspect 13728 active ads posted on PW, then suggest a reasonable price tag (which will be a personal opinion) and then approve the car's ad? Not very practical, is it?

The reputation of this website in the market is : You can find good cars on Pakwheels, however the margin for negotiation is greater than in the market.

i agree with your repo statement ...
the only thing dat is coming to my mind is sensible moderation when verifying post if they find that the car is way over priced should notify the owner that ur add have been rejected coz of this reason.. .... again as u said it is impractical coz i think it will make admin to loads of work...

It would not be sensible at all; my opinion, personal opinion at that, about the price of an item for sale at PW maybe quite different from Momin's or bango's. Would you extend the same rationale to the actual seller? It is his/her property and they have every right to ask whatever they want for it. As a buyer, we can certainly negotiate the price or if it is too high, just don't bother at all. If this happens often enough, sellers may start asking more reasonable prices.

It is not impractical; it is quite improbable. bango, I am sure, was just offering a hypothetical response to elaborate the gist of his argument.

There could be many reasons why older PW members are not actively participating anymore. Humans have the tendency to modify/change/ their behavior due to reasons that would seem quite mundane or even trivial to others but for them they are quite significant.
