NOTE: I LIVE IN PESHAWAR. Iv lived here all my life since childhood.
Im not sorry to say this but the roads in peshawar are a nightmare. Sure Karachi and Lahore are more conjested but atleast they have the etticates to accept their mistake. What makes Peshawar stand out is if you meet an accident, which ofcourse is no mistake of yours, the driver who hits you will never accept his mistake and secondly eveyone thinks its your fault cuz the other guy is either old, has a smaller car than you or just cuz u look like a snobby cool guy.
This is what happened. I was making a U-turn, checked both my rear view mirror and side mirror, saw a cultus driving behind me, gave my indicator from a couple hundred meters, waited for him to make a overtaking move (cuz this is how you avoid a line here). Since he didnt i slowed down and turned the car into the right lane so he could pass and i could make the turn (no sharp turns were made remember).
This is where the genius decides he can pass me in the half car width between me and the central divider. I saw his car out of the corner of my eye, turned left to avoid him, saw another car to my left and braked. He decided to cut across me to save himself from the additional concrete block that has been put there in the turn. And smack.
What followed was the usual, people came and told me to leave him, Police accused me of driving wrong and the ladies in the car started screaming. I asked the driver to give me his number and nic but as usual, he refused. Made the cops make him give me his nic in exchange of mine (btw he gave me his expired one... what a move). Thug life followed (when they called their backup guys who rolled up in a LC and tried to settle the situation). Thought better of it and just left cuz of the guys asked politely.
And this is the reason why we keep low and drive in a mehran within this city thanks to these stupid drivers.
Easy fix, thought finding that side turning lamp will be a pita. The fender moulding did its job in protecting the car from scratching. After 33 years, finally a Fender Bender on my ke-70....
